Anthony Young is a Senior Engineering Leader at Apple, where he leads teams in the Wireless Technologies and Ecosystems organization focused on Home Automation and HomeKit. Working closely with internal and external partners, Anthony's team develops the technologies and experiences that define how people interact with their homes, devices, and the accessories around them — spanning the full software stack, from protocol design and implementation, to developer APIs, to the customer-facing experience itself. The work is equal parts refinement and invention: enhancing what exists today while pioneering the ideas that will shape the future of home technology.

With over 20 years of software engineering experience, including 12 years as a manager and technical lead, Anthony has a distinguished track record of scaling emerging technologies at Apple, Meta, and Microsoft. Before focusing on the home ecosystem, he led engineering plans at Apple to leverage generative AI for Siri, Safari, and Spotlight, coaching his team through the transition to LLM-centric workstreams.

Prior to Apple, Anthony served as an Engineering Manager at Oculus (Meta), where he drove the multi-year roadmap for the VR Shell graphics and simulations system. His work was instrumental in launching key features across several Quest devices, utilizing eye and hand tracking to create realistic and immersive experiences. His leadership experience also includes the startup sector; at BiteSquad, he grew the engineering teams sevenfold and architected the mobile platform through a successful $323M acquisition.

Anthony’s foundational technical career includes over a decade at Microsoft, deep in the core of Windows and Xbox, where he spearheaded new unified animation, natural input, and gesture engines. He is a prolific innovator with a portfolio of U.S. patents for his work in spanning graphics and animation engines, natural user input, and immersive experiences.

Anthony leads with both technical depth and genuine care for the people on his teams. Known for a style that is warm and direct in equal measure, he is a champion for Engineering Excellence and collaboration — consistently building a healthy, diversive, inclusive culture and coaching engineers to the highest rungs of the technical ladder.
