Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs

Welcome from the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs. We look forward to working with you to ensure that your Cal Poly experience is exceptional in every way. As Provost, I provide guidance and support for the leadership teams, faculty, and staff in all six academic colleges, and for several offices that support students throughout their time at Cal Poly (e.g., Admissions, Financial Aid, the Mustang Success Center, Records and Registration, and others). Academic Affairs also includes the Office of Diversity & Inclusivity, International, Graduate & Extended Education, the Office for Research and Economic Development, Information Technology Services, and the Library.

We have a great many projects and initiatives in the works that you will see unfold during your time at Cal Poly—all designed to enhance the experience of students, faculty, and staff. It’s a very exciting time to be a Mustang! We look forward to working both with you and for you.

Upcoming Event

Graduation Initiative Open Forum

Thursday, November 10, 2016; 10:00-11:30 AM; PAC Pavilion

The campus community is invited to attend a Graduation Initiative open forum to learn about Cal Poly’s participation in the system-wide graduation initiative. Brian Tietje, Vice Provost of Extended Education, International & Graduate Programs and Cem Sunata, University Registrar, will highlight Cal Poly’s progressive efforts to provide students with a more efficient path to degree completion. Tietje and Sunata recently shared their presentation at the CSU Graduation Initiative 2025 Symposium in Long Beach.

As a major part of the California legislature’s strong overall efforts to increase college retention and graduation rates in the state, Cal Poly was selected as one of 16 presenters at the CSU Graduation Initiative 2025 Symposium in September. A delegation composed of Cal Poly faculty and leadership participated in the symposium. State officials, CSU Board of Trustees, Chancellor White and staff, along with leadership from all CSU campuses were present.
